Cathay Pacific Statement (2 DECEMBER 2012)
Cathay Pacific is providing an update regarding the social media posts containing sensitive information allegedly made by a single member of its cabin crew concerning a passenger on a recent flight from Thailand:
“Cathay Pacific regrets this unfortunate incident and wishes to assure all of our customers that their privacy – and strict adherence to all privacy regulations – is extremely important to us. All staff are expected to strictly adhere to our privacy policies as well as the highest standards of customer service. Non-compliance is unacceptable.
“We can confirm that our investigation has been in progress since Friday when these allegations of misconduct were first brought to our attention. We have spoken with the crew member involved. She is currently not operating while she cooperates with our ongoing investigation.
“We have a formal investigative process which we are following to ensure a factual finding. In keeping with privacy regulations, the airline will not release personal information concerning any associated parties.”
